1Q. How do you think you are doing so far in your senior project and why? AE, P, AP, CR, or NC
A. I think that I am doing okay on my senior project. However I know that I can do better, because even though I got a P+ on my 5 min presentation, my last couple of research checks have not been to at a proficient level. I know that if I try a little bit harder my research checks can be at a proficient level. My service learning is also also going very well in helping me understand and learn about my topic. I believe that so far I deserve a P- on my senior project.
2Q.What one thing do you think you have done well on and why?
A. I think that I am doing well on my service learning I have learned so much since the time I began. I have learned about all different types and styles of photography, how to use the styles in my own photography, how a camera works, and many, many other things. I have already done about 70 hours of service learning.
3Q What is one thing you would like to improve on and why?
A. One thing that I would like to improve on would be my research checks, because like I said they have not all been at the proficient level that I am capable of doing.

Science Fair Proposal
Hypotheses: If a person is exposed to a certain kind of photograph their level of relaxation will change accordingly to each photo.
In my Science Fair Project the Dependent is the chart that I will create to show the rates of each person for each photo, the Independent would be the pictures that I will show each person and the control variables are the amount of time that the person will have to look at the photograph and the amount of time the pulse rate will be checked for.
My Science Fair experiment connects to my EQ (What is the most important in creating a visually appealing Nature Photograph?) because in order to create a visually appealing Nature Photograph, I believe that it shall also be emotionally pleasing. With my experiment I will keep track of how a person's level of relaxation and calmness is affected by the photographs that they be seeing.
For my experiment I plan on having 20 different people each sit in a room on their own, while I have them observe different Photographs that I have taken for a minute per photo. After observing each photo I will check their pulse rate, to see if there is a difference according to the kinds of photos shown. The materials I will use to conduct my experiment are; A camera, different photos that I will take, a timer, and a lonely room.

What I've learned so far
- Since I began working on my senior project, I have learned how to take an actual photograph using the rule of thirds and focusing on the object, compared to a random snap shot that wouldn't consist either of those.
- I am using photos of flowers I took a couple of weeks ago as my evidence of how I have learned to focus on the object.
- The research that has helped me is the service learning I am doing in ROP. I learn so much from Jack everyday, and being able to use that knowledge right when I learn it is also a great form of research for me.

Independent Component 1 Plan Approval
For my Independent Component I plan on doing more hours of service learning for ROP. I will keep track of the hours with a log of the hours a week that I spend taking the ROP class learning about Photography and applying it to my own photography. I will also use the Photos from ROP to show how my Photography has improved over time. Doing my Independent Component on this will help me with my Essential Question because I will learn about all the aspects of photography and everything that makes a photograph appealing to its viewers.

Defining the Essential Question
- What is most important to create a visually appealing Nature Photograph?
- What I believe the definition of my essential Question means is; What are the requirements in a nature photograph according to color balance, subject, and photographer technique in order for it to be visually appealing to its audience/viewer.
- Some Possible answers to me EQ are, that the photographer must capture the subject in a certain way in order to convey a desired emotion to the viewer. Also that color is not required in a Nature Photograph in order for it to be properly captured or for it to be visually appealing.
- My most important source has been Jack the ROP teacher because in this past month that I have been in his class I have learned more about every type of photography than I have in my whole entire life.

Second Interview Questions
1.What was it that made you decide that Photography would be your life long career?
2.What was it that led you to chose Portrait Photography as a career over any other kind of photography?
3. I have read that it takes years and years of experience for a Photographer to get to the point where they appreciate their own photography, how long did that take you?
4. How was it that becoming an ROP teacher became something you wanted to do?
5. Does teaching ROP help in anyway with what you do in your studio?

Presentation Reflection
1. My first interview with Mr. Jack Bohlka affected my presentation in the way that, it opened my eyes in a way to all the things and aspects in photography that I wasn't completely aware of. Like how much technology is involved, which for some reason I had not really thought of.
2. What I think stood out in my presentation performance was the topic that I chose to present on. Of the difference between Photo Manipulation and simple Editing because I think that not many people realized what the difference between the two were and that Photo Manipulation had been done decades before computers ever even existed.
3. The most challenging part about the presentation I believe would be, planning out the presentation to make sure the audience is keeping up with what you are trying to teach them, because when you're presenting since you know what you are saying and how the topic works and what it means sometimes the audience isn't understanding what it is you are trying to explain to them.

Senior Project Presentation 1
5 Min Presentation rough Draft
Objective: To teach the students about what Photo Manipulation actually is.
Procedure:
1. I will start off with my Introduction; where I will ask the students about what it is that they know about Photo Manipulation.
2. -From the audience interaction I will go into the details of what photo manipulation actually is and how it is used. I will give examples of what would be considered photo manipulation, and what would not be considered Photo Manipulation and how it could be used in Nature Photography using the visual that I will create. I will also state my own opinion about if I like to use Manipulation in my own photography or not.
3. - After I am done explaining what Photo manipulation is, I will simply ask the class if they have any questions about what I have just explained to them about, and if so I will make sure they are answered.
4. -At the end to conclude my presentation I will state where I hope that my Senior Project on Nature Photography will take me by the end of the year.
Timing: about 4.5 minutes.
*Resources/Materials: As a Visual I plan on creating a medium sized poster with pictures of different types of photographs where the artist used Manipulation and other photographs where the artists did not use manipulation to express their emotions. To show an example of what would be considered Manipulation and what would not.

Interview Check
1. Who are you interviewing and why?
I am planning on interviewing Mr. Bohlka the ROP teacher. I have chosen Mr. Bohlka because he owns his own Photography Studio, meaning that he also has a lot of experience in photography and teaches the ROP class that I just began to take.
2. What additional questions will you ask them?
-What is the most difficult and easiest aspect in having a career in photography?
-What has been your biggest source of information throughout your whole career?
-What was your inspiration to chose photography as a life long career?

Nature Photography
My senior project topic is Nature Photography. The reason why I chose Nature Photography is because I have always loved and enjoyed nature, I also love to explore and travel to new places. Whenever I get the chance to explore a new place, I like to capture the beauty of the place I have discovered, so that I will always be able to remember it. However, I also really enjoy art and have always tried to somehow be able to express my self. So why not combine things I love to do and art in order to express my self through it. By the end of the year I hope to have A LOT more experience in photography, in order to be prepared for college and later have a successful career in Nature Photography. One of my goals being, being able to work for magazines like National Geographic or AFAR magazine.
