What I've learned so far

  •  Since I began working on my senior project, I have learned how to take an actual photograph using the rule of thirds and focusing on the object, compared to a random snap shot that wouldn't consist either of those.
  • I am using photos of flowers I took a couple of weeks ago as my evidence of how I have learned to focus on the object.
  • The research that has helped me is the service learning I am doing in ROP. I learn so much from Jack everyday, and being able to use that knowledge right when I learn it is also a great form of research for me.

Independent Component 1 Plan Approval

For my Independent Component I plan on doing more hours of service learning for ROP. I will keep track of the hours with a log of the hours a week that I spend taking the ROP class learning about Photography and applying it to my own photography. I will also use the Photos from ROP to show how my Photography has improved over time. Doing my Independent Component on this will help me with my Essential Question because I will learn about all the aspects of photography and everything that makes a photograph appealing to its viewers.

Defining the Essential Question

  • What is most important to create a visually appealing Nature Photograph?
  • What I believe the definition of my essential Question means is; What are the requirements in a nature photograph according to color balance, subject, and photographer technique in order for it to be visually appealing to its audience/viewer.
  • Some Possible answers to me EQ are, that the photographer must capture the subject in a certain way in order to convey a desired emotion to the viewer. Also that color is not required in a Nature Photograph in order for it to be properly captured or for it to be visually appealing.
  • My most important source has been Jack the ROP teacher because in this past month that I have been in his class I have learned more about every type of photography than I have in my whole entire life.
