Presentation Reflection

1. My first interview with Mr. Jack Bohlka affected my presentation in the way that, it opened my eyes in a way to all the things and aspects in photography that I wasn't completely aware of. Like how much technology is involved, which for some reason I had not really thought of.

2. What I think stood out in my presentation performance was the topic that I chose to present on. Of the difference between Photo Manipulation and simple Editing because I think that not many people realized what the difference between the two were and that Photo Manipulation had been done decades before computers ever even existed.

3. The most challenging part about the presentation I believe would be, planning out the presentation to make sure the audience is keeping up with what you are trying to teach them, because when you're presenting since you know what you are saying and how the topic works and what it means sometimes the audience isn't understanding what it is you are trying to explain to them.

Senior Project Presentation 1

5 Min Presentation rough Draft

Objective: To teach the students about what Photo Manipulation actually is.

Procedure:
1.       I will start off with my Introduction; where I will ask the students about what it is that they know about Photo Manipulation.

2.       -From the audience interaction I will go into the details of what photo manipulation actually is and how it is used. I will give examples of what would be considered photo manipulation, and what would not be considered Photo Manipulation and how it could be used in Nature Photography using the visual that I will create. I will also state my own opinion about if I like to use Manipulation in my own photography or not.

3.      - After I am done explaining what Photo manipulation is, I will simply ask the class if they have any questions about what I have just explained to them about, and if so I will make sure they are answered.

4.       -At the end to conclude my presentation I will state where I hope that my Senior Project on Nature Photography will take me by the end of the year.

Timing: about 4.5 minutes.

*Resources/Materials: As a Visual I plan on creating a medium sized poster with pictures of different types of photographs where the artist used Manipulation and other photographs where the artists did not use manipulation to express their emotions. To show an example of what would be considered Manipulation and what would not.

Interview Check

1. Who are you interviewing and why?

I am planning on interviewing Mr. Bohlka the ROP teacher. I have chosen Mr. Bohlka because he owns his own Photography Studio, meaning that he also has a lot of experience in photography and teaches the ROP class that I just began to take.

2. What additional questions will you ask them?

-What is the most difficult and easiest aspect in having a career in photography?
-What has been your biggest source of information throughout your whole career?
-What was your inspiration to chose photography as a life long career?

Nature Photography

My senior project topic is Nature Photography. The reason why I chose Nature Photography is because I have always loved and enjoyed nature, I also love to explore and travel to new places. Whenever I get the chance to explore a new place, I like to capture the beauty of the place I have discovered, so that I will always be able to remember it. However, I also really enjoy art and have always tried to somehow be able to express my self. So why not combine things I love to do and art in order to express my self through it. By the end of the year I hope to have A LOT more experience in photography, in order to be prepared for college and later have a successful career in Nature Photography. One of my goals being, being able to work for magazines like National Geographic or AFAR magazine.
